About Us
One of the distinctives at Riverbend is the
practice of a plurality of leadership at all levels.
What that means is team leadership. One of our deeply
held values is to see the church as a family seeking
God together. We believe that God sends us people who
are a uniquely beautiful creation and together we make
up a multi-gifted, multi-talented team. As each one
serves in their gifting in their own unique
personality, our whole community benefits.
Therefore, we desire to help people discover their
gifting and empower them for service in the community
they live and work in.
Currently, we have elders and deacons, small group
leaders, ministry leaders and others that make up our
leadership community. We meet and seek the Lord's will
for our church and together we are growing in our love
and unity and service to our own church community but
also to the community beyond. As we do this
authentically, our prayer is that people see and
experience the love of God through His Son Jesus
Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Philippians 1:27 and
Ephesians 4:1-16 form some of the the Biblical basis
for our team orientation.
