Team Background:
The CCI-Brazil team consists of mostly Brazilian workers and volunteers.
Kevin was born and raised in Brazil as a missionary kid – his parents worked for 40 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the Amazon. Karla’s parents also worked in ministry and missions for much of her childhood. After several years in youth ministry, Kevin and Karla sensed it was time to follow their calling and move into missions. After working 2 years in the mobilization office in Columbia, SC, they moved to Curitiba, Brazil, where they have been mobilizing Brazilians for the past 5 years.
Ministry Description:
CCI-Brasil is a Brazilian mission agency that recruits, trains, sends and supports Brazilian workers as they assist and facilitate church planting movements among unreached Muslim people groups in the Eurasia and North Africa. Kevin is the leader of training for CCI-Brasil. He is responsible for developing mission training materials and for coordinating the training of missionaries preparing for the field. He is also involved in speaking to churches, motivating them to become actively involved in sending workers to unreached people groups. Karla helps in the office, works at home and supports Kevin in his work.
Prayer Concerns:
a. Pray for the continued development (translation) of the Perspectives book and course. The Coordinator’s manual and Study Guide need to be revised and redone manual by the end of the year.
The official national launch will be in October at the Congress of Brazilian Missions (CBM). Our first classes will be in June, 2009.
b. Pray for all the work to be done and the training of local class coordinators.
c. Kevin is coordinating an effort to organize a Network of Missions Mobilizers in Curitiba over the next year. Pray that God will bring the right team to help lead this effort.
