Jason Williams was born and raised in Sumter, SC. He has resided in Lexington for 18 years with his wife, Becky. They have been married for 18 years and have five amazing kids: Anna Grace, Thomas, Andrew, Abigail and Eleanor.
Jason is the Lead Pastor at RCC and loves the people at Riverbend. “The greatest part about working here is seeing what God is doing in the lives of His people and what He is doing in Riverbend Community Church,” he says. One of Jason’s favorite passages comes from John 14:1-3, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
When Jason isn’t at work, you can find him hanging out with his family, working on his old Jeep, and crushing pickleballs on the pickleball court.
Mitz Harrison grew up as a missionary kid but spent her early years in Dover, Ohio. She has been in Lexington for 22 years with her husband, Bruce. Mitz and Bruce have been married for 37 years. They have three adult children; Ashley, Justin, and Kaylee.
Mitz serves Riverbend as the Office Manager. She says her favorite part about working at the church is working with the staff each week. Her favorite verse is from Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
When Mitz isn't at the church office, she enjoys baking, gardening, and organizing stuff. (which the staff can agree she is great at!)
Worship Leader & Teaching Pastor
Randy Wilson is originally from New Orleans. He and his wife, Lynn, have lived in downtown Columbia for the past 33 years. Randy and Lynn have three adult children; Anna, Caleb, and Sarah Beth.
Randy acts as an RCC's Worship Leader, and is a part of the preaching team as Teaching Pastor. Randy enjoys being practically involved in Kingdom ministry. He loves leading people into God’s presence in musical worship. He also loves creatively teaching God’s word with a shepherd’s heart. One thing he has asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to meditate in His temple. (Psalm 27:4)
When Randy isn't too busy with work or church responsibilities, you can find him enjoying cycling, kayaking, playing guitar, reading, and picking on drummers named “Nate-Dawg!”
Women's Discipleship Minister
Carina Promm was born and raised in Canada. She has been married to Calev Promm since 2001. They moved to Lexington, SC in 2018 with their four children – Jonah, Noelle, Jasper and Ivy.
Carina serves as the Women's Discipleship Minister at Riverbend. Carina says her favorite part of working at Riverbend is “doing my part to help the community of the church be all that God has intended it to be. I am so proud of how well the people in this church love each other, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
One of Carina’s favorite verses is found in Colossians 3:19 “For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”
When Carina isn’t at Riverbend, she is often spending time on a course at CIU, or having a date with her husband, or one of her kids. She also loves swimming and spending time with friends.
Cassie Rios was born in Baltimore, but has been happy to call Lexington, SC home for the last 14 years wither husband David, their four children and many pets.
She is very excited to serve as the new Media Director at Riverbend and learning how to develop that role. Her favorite Bible verse is Job 23:10, “But He knows the way that I take, when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”
Between trying new recipes and unending laundry, Cassie can also be found gardening, watching movies or adding to a long list of Pinterest craft ideas.
David Rios serves Riverbend as one of our worship leaders on staff. He is married to Cassie Rios, and they have four children together. They have been serving Riverbend since 2010 in variety of roles. David also oversees our "Riverbend Prays and Praise" evenings on the last Friday of each month.
David is originally from Peru but was raised in Belize on the mission field with his family. David works full-time as the Dean of Technology & Pre-Engineering at Ben Lippen School and teaches for the Middle & High School.
When David isn't working on robotics, he enjoys spending time with his family, working as a wedding videographer, and playing his guitar.
Preschool Administrative Director
Karen Hart grew up in Columbia, SC. She and her husband, Charlie have been married for 35 years and have 2 adult children, Christopher and Caroline. They recently moved from Mount Pleasant, SC where they lived for the last 19 years.
Karen serves as Riverbend's Preschool Director. She is excited to be a new member of the staff and to see how God is going to use her to lead the preschool. One of her favorite Scripture passages is from Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
When Karen isn't working at the preschool, she enjoys family time, reading, sewing, gardening, and hanging out with her dogs, Maddie and Holly.
Jean is originally from Darlington, SC but moved to Lexington 33 years ago. She has been married to Jay Croft for 31 years. They have three adult children: Rachel, Ben, and Anna.
She serves as Riverbend’s Accountant and has been serving with RCC since 2003. Jean’s favorite part about working with Riverbend is the staff, elders, and members of the church. Her favorite scripture comes from Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
When Jean isn’t working with numbers and money, you can find her baking, reading a good book, and going for a run.
Marcella is originally from Mexico, and then lived in Seattle for 19 years. She has been working as a custodian at Riverbend since 2018, and is an active church member alongside her husband Steve.
Marcella loves working at Riverbend - she enjoys worshipping the Lord while she is cleaning. Her favorite scripture is "do not be afraid...for the Lord is with you wherever you go" - Joshua 1:9.
When Marcella isn't working, she enjoys going for long walks and singing.
